Volunteering at Unilever Archives

Here at Unilever Archives and Records Management the volunteer engagement scheme is designed and developed to appeal to individuals of all ages and abilities. We provide a variety of valuable experiences which means your contribution will add value to the work undertaken by the professional team. These opportunities are part of the Unilever-wide commitment to making a positive impact through engagement with the wider community. Our volunteers play a vital role to our service. By helping us to unlock collections, we can make them available to internal and external users.

Recent volunteers have been involved with cataloguing a large collection of photographs, advertisements, packaging and business correspondence. We provide full induction, training and supervision.

Our volunteer placements are perfect for:

  • Students who need to complete work experience as a module requirement
  • Individuals pursuing a career change or wish to gain pre course work experience. Our volunteer programme is the perfect starting point to find out what the role entails and work with collections behind the scenes.
  • People who are retired, belong to a local community or history group and those who have a passion for our amazing archive collections and heritage.
